CBS China Bank Savings said it will make auto financing available to help transition consumers towards a more sustainable mobility.
CBS made the announcement during the Nissan Philippines-sponsored Test Drive for the All-New Kicks e-POWER, the self-charging electric vehicle expected to steer more Filipino car owners closer to EV adoption.
Nissan Kicks e-POWER is a 100% electric motor-driven system, using the Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) technology perfected in the Nissan LEAF, adding a gasoline engine to charge the high voltage battery pack when necessary. The Kicks e-POWER made its official debut in the Philippine car market on August 12.
“Launching the All-New Nissan Kicks e-POWER in the country is one of the most significant moves in bringing EV adoption closer to the Filipino motorist, and taking the Philippines towards full electric mobility. We believe that this vehicle will be a game-changer in the market by providing an EV-like drive with compromising fuel-efficiency and cost of ownership. We want to get to a stage where sustainability and carbon neutrality is not just a goal, but a reality that every person can live with our technology,” shares Nissan Philippines President Juan Manuel Hoyos.
“CBS believes in helping Filipino transition to sustainable mobility by making auto finance available for full electric and hybrid vehicles like the Nissan LEAF and the All-New Nissan Kicks e-POWER,” according to Manny Gomez, head of the CBS Auto Loans Division, who joined the 141-kilometer Kicks e-POWER test drive from Nissan Manila Bay in Pasay City to Tagaytay on August 11.
“The Nissan Kicks e-POWER is powered to thrill,” Gomez said. “You can instantly feel the acceleration with Kicks e-POWER; a smooth, noiseless, powerful, and eco-friendly ride! We can look forward to bluer skies with greater consumer access to both fuel-efficient, low-emission and EV technologies, and CBS is determined to make the shift possible.”
Unlike conventional hybrids, the e-POWER takes Nissan’s existing EV technology and adds a gasoline-powered engine whose only role is to charge the battery. The result is a ride that is fuel-efficient and powerful, without the noise of an internal combustion engine (ICE) car.
The unique e-Pedal Step feature in the Nissan Kicks e-POWER allows drivers to increase speed and decelerate using only the accelerator pedal. This allows a smooth ride and is expected to lessen the stress of city driving. The fuel consumption to charge the battery is only 23 kms per liter.
The All-New Nissan Kicks e-POWER also comes with a 5-year or 150,000-km warranty period covering the vehicle, e-POWER system and the battery. It is now available across all dealerships nationwide.
The expansion of the Nissan Kicks e-POWER to the Philippines puts the auto company on track for its goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, where they aim for every all-new Nissan vehicle offering in key markets to be electrified by the early 2030s.
Climate-friendly business practices and eco-friendly mobility are among the long-term goals of the Build & Rise Initiative of CBS China Bank Savings, which says promotion of financial inclusion, entrepreneurship and consumer confidence are needed to spur rapid economic recovery.
