Commemorative items will also be distributed to delegates representing senior high, middle and elementary schools from throughout the Philippines. CBS President James Christian T. Dee and First Vice President Niel C. Jumawan will lead the awarding ceremonies onsite.
“China Bank Savings is honored to stand alongside our Filipino teachers in this national celebration. They are the backbone of inclusive growth and social progress,” said CBS President James Christian T. Dee. “Our mission goes beyond banking—we aim to create real impact through education, financial literacy, and empowerment.”
CBS is also co-implementing with DepEd a regional Financial Wellness Workshop Series targeted at teachers and non-teaching personnel in Visayas and Mindanao. This initiative, aligned with the broader NTM calendar, aims to bolster the financial literacy of educators through sessions on budgeting, responsible borrowing, savings discipline, and cash flow management.
Financial Wellness workshops were held in September in Glan (Sarangani); and the cities of Dumaguete and Iloilo. The roadshow will visit teachers in Cagayan de Oro City in October. Other locations are in the calendar. CBS was a major sponsor of the National Teachers Month kickoff in Koronadal City and the National Teachers Mid-Month Celebration in Dumaguete City in September.
“Our collaboration with DepEd extends far beyond one-day celebrations,” added Jumawan, who leads CBS’s Automatic Payroll Deduction (APD) Lending Group and DepEd engagement since 2016. “We are proud to co-develop programs that improve the financial resilience of teachers and their households -ultimately contributing to stronger classrooms and communities.”
“Over the past four years, CBS has committed over P40 million in prizes and sponsorships to support National Teachers’ Day. But more importantly, we remain steadfast in amplifying our advocacy for financial wellness among educators nationwide.”
Jumawan also emphasized CBS’s recognition of grassroots educators: “We pay tribute to the teachers stationed in far-flung areas who persevere daily under challenging conditions. Their dedication shapes the future of our children—and of our nation.”
Earlier this year, CBS also donated P14.8 million worth of laptops, construction materials, maintenance tools, and office supplies to DepEd in support of Brigada Eskwela and Learning Recovery programs.Recent Posts
