CBS celebrates 16th Anniversary with Olympian rower Joanie Delgaco

September 17, 2024 CBS China Bank Savings marked its 16th anniversary with an inspirational keynote by Olympian rower Joanie Delgaco at the Bank's celebration on September 9 at CBS head office in Makati City. Delgaco shared the trials and tribulations that led her to becoming the first ever Filipina to qualify and compete in an Olympic rowing event, highlighting the importance of perseverance and teamwork. “Ang tagumpay ay hindi lamang tungkol sa pagiging numero uno kundi tungkol din sa dedikasyon, pagsisikap, at pagkakaisa, sa harap ng matinding kompetisyon at hamon," she said. Joannie Delgaco1 Delgaco ranked second in the Final D of the women's single sculls and 20th overall at the 2024 Paris Olympics, and like her, CBS is aiming for more glory. For Delgaco, it is the 2028 Olympics in LA. For CBS, it is "Surging to Number One," after becoming the second largest thrift bank in the Philippines at the end of 2023. The cohesion and single-mindedness needed to succeed in rowing are exactly what the CBS community aims to use to achieve its goal. Delgaco shares a special bond with Dee who also represented the Philippines in international rowing competitions. Dee had also played a key role in guiding the Philippine rowing contingent at the 2019 South East Asia games where Delgaco won her first gold meda in the lightweight double sculls.
