DepEd hails CBS at Manila Hotel Rites

The Department of Education (DepEd) named CBS China Bank Savings as one of the agency's outstanding private sector partners during the national DepEd Pasasalamat at Pagpupugay: Partners' Appreciation and Recognition ceremony held on December 16, 2024, at The Manila Hotel Maynilad Ballroom. APD Lending Group head Niel C. Jumawan accepted the award on behalf of the Bank from DepEd Secretary Juan Edgardo "Sonny" M. Angara.
"To receive this recognition from the Department of Education is a great honor," said APDLG head Niel C. Jumawan. "Our commitment to the advocacies of DepEd remains steadfast. It is the CBS way of giving back to the public schools in appreciation of the kind patronage of our financial products and services by DepEd teachers and employees."
CBS has been a private sector partner of DepEd for nearly a decade. From a small operation consisting of 10 employees and three "borrowed" tables in CBS San Fernando-Bayan Branch in Pampanga in 2015, the CBS financial services program for DepEd employees has grown into a specially dedicated nationwide network of 107 lending centers and branch-lites, alongside the Bank's 170 regular branches.
CBS helps bridge gaps in the field of public education, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for learners, and enhancing the well-being of public school teachers and other DepEd employees.
