CBS Boosts Financial Inclusion for Batangas Coop through Digital Banking

Over 2,000 members of the Sandigan ng Maligayang Mamamayan sa Makina (S3M) Multi-Purpose Cooperative of Balete, Batangas, are set to greatly benefit from digital banking solutions provided by CBS China Bank Savings, the country's second-largest thrift bank.
CBS initiated the enrollment of 2,600 S3M-MPC members for CBS Easi-Save ATM Basic accounts during the cooperative's general assembly on March 30. As CBS Easi-Save ATM Basic account holders, S3M-MPC members will be able to monitor, manage, and move their funds quickly and conveniently, 24/7, via ATMs, personal computers, or their smartphones.
CBS Lipa Branch has been appointed as the depository for the patronage refunds of S3M-MPC members. Patronage refunds are a share of cooperative earnings distributed to members based on their use of the cooperative's products and services. Additionally, S3M-MPC will release proceeds of loans through the member-borrowers' respective Easi-Save ATM accounts.
During the assembly program, CBS Lipa Business Manager Peps C. Velasco presented S3M-MPC with a CBS plaque of appreciation, recognizing the cooperative as a "Build & Rise Initiative partner of China Bank Savings in promoting financial inclusion, consumer empowerment, and the spirit of entrepreneurship." The event was witnessed by cooperative members, officials of the Balete local government, the Cooperative Union of Batangas, and sectoral and civil society representatives.
S3M-MPC is one of the largest cooperatives in Batangas, and this partnership with CBS China Bank Savings marks a significant step towards enhancing financial inclusion and empowering the cooperative's members through innovative digital banking solutions.
