CBS joins Western Visayas leg of Paleng-QR PH

October 11, 2024 CBS China Bank Savings is joining the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Western Visayas leg of the PISO Caravan - Paleng-QR PH Plus program. China Bank Savings will be at the Talisay City, Negros Occidental plaza on October 11 to support the local economy in becoming Paleng-QR ready. Paleng-QR PH Plus is the BSP program to develop the country’s digital payments ecosystem by promoting QR code transactions in public markets and local transportation. The use of QR codes will benefit both merchants and consumers, further strengthening the country’s economy. The system allows for fund transfers by simply scanning QR codes using mobile phones, making payments faster, more secure, and more convenient. Talisay Negros PalengQR PH “With the CBS GO on-boarding app and mobile banking-enabled CBS Basic Deposit and Easi-Save accounts, we aim to make banking more inclusive and highly accessible,” said Alvin L. Morales, CBS Area Head for Retail Banking in Western Visayas. “These CBS savings accounts align perfectly with BSP’s drive for a cash-lite economy.” Representatives from the CBS Talisay-Negros Occidental Branch will be available to answer inquiries about CBS' digital offerings and assist market vendors, shopkeepers, and transport operators and drivers in opening free digital CBS Basic Deposit Accounts via the CBS GO on-boarding app. CBS is committed to active engagement with the Paleng-QR Plus program, which aligns with the Bank’s Build and Rise Initiative for financial inclusion, consumer confidence, and the empowerment of the strategic SME sector.
